Queensland Remote Aboriginal Media

Technology

QRAM powers a connected radio network, linking remote communities through reliable, real-time technology.

QRAM’s technology connects remote Indigenous radio stations across Far North Queensland through a secure Wide Area Network (WAN), a “two-way highway” linking each station directly to our central hub.

Using private connections over the internet, we send and receive audio, music, interviews and messages in real time, while monitoring every station as if we were on site.

This allows us to keep stations on air in some of the most remote locations in Australia, detecting issues instantly and often fixing them remotely. The result is more reliable radio, stronger community connections, and faster delivery of critical information.

Our Technology services:

  • Wide Area Network (WAN) connecting remote stations
  • Secure content and data transfer between sites
  • Live central hub audio streaming
  • Real-time monitoring and remote fault resolution
  • Broadcast systems, equipment and infrastructure support

Built for remote conditions, our network delivers consistent performance across vast and challenging regions, helping stations stay on air when it matters most.

With remote access and intelligent monitoring, issues can be identified and resolved quickly—often without the need for on-site technicians.

This approach reduces downtime, lowers operational costs, and ensures communities continue to receive timely and reliable information.
